The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners has jurisdiction over investigation of complaints which are placed against medical doctors (M.D.), doctors of osteopathy (D.O.) and licensed assistants to physicians (PA/AA).

Alabama Board of Nursing license look up and complaint forms.  The complaint forms are under the Employer Information link, it does not appear that the general public can file a complaint from the website.

5. State Midwifery Organization:

Alabama Midwives Alliance is a not-for-profit organization uniting midwife professionals and those supporting a variety of safe childbirth options. Membership is open to midwives, students, and others who wish to support caregivers providing the Midwives Model of Care in Alabama. ALMA encourages members to participate in a spirit of humility, responsibility and accountability as we work to ensure the future of midwifery in the state of Alabama.

The Alabama Birth Coalition is working toward healthier moms and babies. An all-volunteer, grassroots, non-profit organization, we hope to achieve this goal through increased access to midwives and empowering citizens across the state to make informed maternity care decisions based on the best evidence available.
