Alaska State Resources:

1. State Insurance Commissioner:

The Division of Insurance enforces Alaska insurance laws and assists consumers directly by responding to insurance inquiries and investigating complaints against insurance companies and producers.

The State Medical Board adopts regulations to carry out the laws governing the practice of Medicine in Alaska. It makes final licensing decisions and takes disciplinary action against people who violate the licensing laws.

4. State Nursing Board:

The Board of Nursing (“Board”) is committed to maintaining high standards and protecting the public from unqualified, unethical, or incompetent practitioners. The Board has jurisdiction over Registered Nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurse Anesthetists, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nurse Aides.

5. State Midwifery Organization:

The Midwives Association of Alaska represents the State licensed Direct Entry Midwives and Apprentices of Alaska.
